The Mission of the Unit of Radiology and Medical Imaging at the IFO San Gallicano Dermatological Institute is to provide competent, courteous and compassionate clinical services which are uniformly of the highest quality. Patients are the reason for our radiology unit’s existence, and must be accorded the central role in our professional activities to improve the quality of life for our patients and their families. We are first and foremost responsible to our patients and consulting physicians. Our work must always be shaped by the highest ethical principles. Our research will continue to generate innovative solutions and new knowledge that makes a difference for patient care and the future of healthcare.

The unit of Radiology and Medical Imaging is constantly committed in imaging research activities. Research efforts revolve around ultrasound imaging in disease of dermatological interest, complex image processing and radiomics. Finally, research includes the study of skin cancers and technology development. Our basic science research encompasses a wide array of projects performed in conjunction with our “clinical and dermatological research department” and “clinical and oncological research department” of Regina Elena Institute.
